It's a part of my life that I wouldn't want to miss. I love both listening and playing, but, depending on my mood, I prefer playing. I love to play keyboard but I don't have enough experience and skills to be good at it. Maybe the lessons I got as a kid gave me a sort of allergy for it at those days. Thanks to my mom and dad music was a sort of mandatory part of our youth. We were free to pick an instrument which we had to try for a year. I chose piano which should have been guitar. I went to the guitar a few years later.
Old piano my wife got ages ago. We still need to invite a piano tuner. We didn't do that yet mostly because it's rare that someone plays on it. One of those plans that never get enough attention.
The piano that needs a wall socket... I have had different keyboards during the years of which I always found the piano sound not great. With this Casio Privia PX-S3000 I'm pretty satisfied.
Like I said earlier, I feel more at home on the guitar. I gave myself an electric guitar for my 16th birthday with a book with guitar chords and started to practice. Using my tape deck as pre-amp, I was able to create a nice overdrive sound from my amplifier. Shortly after that I got myself a Maya Les Paul imitation which was a pretty good guitar. I upgraded that one with DiMarzio pickups and Schaller machine heads. With a zillion switches on it, I was able to create a wide range of sounds which made it a pretty versatile guitar.
Through the years I bought different guitars which I sold later on because I simply didn't use them anymore. When I look back at that, I regret it a bit that I sold those. A black Fender Jazz Bass with a nice maple neck, a Fender Precision base which I got second hand and an Ibanez Strat imitation which I also upgraded with a set of DiMarzios.
Below you can check the current electric guitars which I own at the moment.
I have always wanted a Gibson, but never took the step until a while ago. Replaced pickups with a DiMarzio Super Distortion and a LiquiFire.
Cheapo guitar which I upgraded with 3 DiMarzio pickups: Super Distortion, Dual Sound and PAF. Schaller machine heads. Still a great guitar.
A cheap Mexican one (more value for money for me than the American one). Upgraded with 3 Seymour Duncan Hot Rails pickups and push pull pots.
This one I will never sell. Again with a nice maple neck. No need for upgrades at all to my taste.
